PROVO, Utah (BRAIN) – After being out of the market for several months, then announcing its return in April of this year, Contour is unveiling a new action camera—the Roam 3.
The camera has a waterproof and impact-resistant aluminum housing, comes with a fully charged lithium-ion battery, an 8 gig memory card and two low-profile mounts. It records video at 1080p at 30 frames per second or 720p at 60 frames per second. And has a 270-degree rotating lens.
Features include instant photo mode that can be set for single frame or multiple burst shots; flush rail mounts for secure and dependable attachment; built-in universal camera mount (¼”-20) compatible with all standard mounts and tripods; instant-on video record switch, and built-in laser level to ensure the right angle.
A locking switch keeps the camera from turning on or off accidentally and the aluminum housing is waterproof down to 30-feet depths without a case.
“An action camera should look great while users are wearing it and be simple to operate,” said James Clarke, CEO of Contour. “With the Roam 3, all you have to do is move the slider forward and you are instantly recording. If you want to take beautiful pictures, just press the status button to switch to photo mode.”
The camera retails for $199.99.
