BERKELEY, Calif. (BRAIN) — GU Energy Labs and Strava are teaming up to raise at least $50,000 for the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF). Money raised will be used to equip physically disabled athletes with adaptive sports equipment, including running prosthetics and hand cycles, allowing them to take up or resume an active lifestyle.
Runners and cyclists can join the Challenged Athletes Foundation run and ride challenges on Strava, from Oct. 6-26. GU Energy will donate $0.01 for every kilometer run, and $0.01 for every three kilometers ridden as part of the challenge to CAF.
Participants who individually run 50 kilometers or ride 300 kilometers during the challenge will unlock the ability to purchase a limited edition T shirt from Strava. All profit from the sales of the tees will be donated to CAF.

Founded in 1994 and based in San Diego, the CAF has raised more than $50 million and provided life-changing support to more than 8,000 athletes.
