LAGUNA BEACH, CA (BRAIN) Monday August 6 2012 11:20 AM MT—Crankbrothers is introducing a new wheelset intended for longer-travel 29er bikes.
The iodine 29er wheels have a completely redesigned rim profile from the 26-inch iodine.
The rim is optimized for aggressive trail and all-mountain riding, for 100-130mm full suspension bikes. Front hub adapter kits are included with all wheelsets, and iodine 3 rear hubs can be adapted to either 10x135 or 12x142 rear spacing.
The wheels' twinpair spokes are laced in a low-dish mirror pattern, designed with 12 points of contact on a 24-spoke wheel to create balanced tension. There are no spoke holes through the rim wall or rim bed, resulting in a tubeless-ready rim with ultimate strength and stiffness. The wheels weigh 1,930 grams per set.
The wheels are currently available at bike dealers, and supply will increase in the upcoming weeks, crankbrothers said.
