Interbike bolsters retail education offered at show

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif. (BRAIN) — Interbike is boosting retail education at the 2015 trade show with a revamped NBDA Super Seminar series and a new area on the show floor called the Retail Resource Initiative.

The area, presented by the Independent Retailer Conference, will host a group of experts who work with service providers retailers currently use such as email marketing company Constant Contact, payment processing service PayAnywhere, and retail consultants Kizer & Bender. The IRC will deliver 15-20 minute sessions from a variety of retail experts and service providers.

And the NBDA is bringing new presenters and offering shorter sessions as part of its “Super Seminars Plus” series.

“We took a hard look at the Super Seminars from years’ past, and really wanted to shake things up a bit,” said Fred Clements, executive director of the National Bicycle Dealers Association. “The caliber of speakers and the host of new topics we’re tackling along with a shorter presentation format will make this inaugural edition of the Super Seminars Plus the best we’ve ever produced.”

Presentations will cover retail store layout and design, including the recent makeover of a shop; customer relationship management; small business valuation, and other topics. Speakers will include Donny Perry, author and program manager for Specialized’s SBCU; Dan Mann of the Mann Group; Jim Dion, owner of Dionco, Inc.; Chris Kegel, owner of Wheel & Sprocket; and others.

“These are just two aspects of education at Interbike that we’re excited about,” said Pat Hus, vice president of Interbike. “Education for our attendees has always been a cornerstone and we just want to take it to another level. There is no other outlet for this kind of knowledge and it is made available at no cost to our attendees.”
