New media event to run concurrently with Bike PressCamp in 2016.

SOLON, Ohio (BRAIN) — Efficient Collaborative Retail Marketing, which recently acquired Lifeboat Events, is expanding the PressCamp brand to the outdoor industry.

PressCamps are twice-annual meetings between editors and a limited number of brands from the cycling industry. The summer events have been held in Park City, Utah, since 2009; winter PressCamps have been held in Southern California.

ECRM is working with New Normal Consulting, led by outdoor industry veterans Michael Hodgson, Brad Werntz, Kenji Haroutunian and Geoff O’Keeffe, for sales and market direction and advice on the new Outdoor PressCamp. The group will report to ECRM’s Lance Camisasca, vice president of sports, and founder of Lifeboat Events, which launched PressCamp.

“This is yet another big day for the PressCamp brand, as we have been looking forward to expanding our successful media events to industries outside of cycling for some time. Collaborating with New Normal Consulting to assure we have the best team on the ground to help us host the event is very powerful and comforting,” said Camisasca.

Outdoor PressCamp 2016 will be held in June at The Lodges at Deer Valley Resort and will bring together editors and brands in the camping, trail running, backpacking, hiking, mountaineering and obstacle challenge markets.

The new event will take place concurrently with Bike PressCamp, which will be a short walk away and allow editors and suppliers from both groups to network.

“We are so excited to be working with Lance and the ECRM team,” said Kenji Haroutunian, partner in New Normal Consulting. “PressCamp is a truly impressive event for the cycling industry. Hosting Outdoor PressCamp with Bike PressCamp makes huge sense for all the invitees, as outdoor businesses get both focused time with the endemic media and then share the common culture of outdoor adventure with cycling brands and media.”

Meanwhile, dates for winter Bike PressCamp have been set. The third edition of the winter media event will take place Jan. 26-29 and will return to the Westlake Village Inn in Westlake Village, California.
