BONSALL, Calif. (BRAIN) — Two industry veterans are launching a women’s chamois cream system that consists of pre-ride cleansing wipes, a during-ride chamois cream and a post-ride shower gel.
Jill Hamilton, former brand manager for Shebeest and Haro, and Dean Bradley, former product designer and developer for Haro, Schwinn, Giant, Electra and Public Bikes, bring more than 45 years of combined industry experience to their new venture, called Petal Power.
“The inspiration to create Petal Power was born from wanting to accomplish two goals,” said Hamilton. “One was to put a fun, fresh and classy spin on what’s arguably a delicate subject with women cyclists—making them aware of how using chamois cream will keep them so much more comfortable on their bikes. The second goal was to address something none of the other brands have done. Yes, it’s important to lube up before a ride, but it’s equally important to book end your ride with squeaky clean nether regions to help reduce saddle sores and other infections cause by harmful bacteria.”
The Joy Ride system includes a canister of Clean Start Wipes ($7.99), a jar of Joy Ride Crème ($16.99), and a bottle of Fresh Finish Cleanser ($7.99). The Joy Ride Crème contains no tea tree oil, menthol or peppermint oil. The system sells for $29.99, but products can be bought individually.
Petal Power’s products are made with natural, plant-based ingredients and contain no parabens, animal-derived ingredients, petroleum or other artificial ingredients.
