PETALUMA, Calif. (BRAIN) – Yuba Bicycles has updated its Boda Boda cargo bike for 2014 and created new accessories for carrying children, adult passengers, groceries or a surfboard.
The new Boda Boda will be available for purchase in April for $995 retail.
Changes include a new color, called "Step-Over Red," and a redesigned rear cargo and passenger rack. The rack is now compatible with Yepp child seats.
The 2014 Boda Boda now has new mounts for its Bread Basket front basket, new Cruz Cream tires, rear disc brake tabs, new handlebars and saddles and removable Love Handle side loaders for easier shipping.
Yuba's newest Add-On accessory is The Ring, a passenger handle that attaches to the rear rack. Yuba will also launch a new surfboard and standup paddleboard carrying mount this year.
"Last year was a tremendous year of growth for Yuba," said Yuba founder Benjamin Sarrazin, noting increased sales and widespread media coverage including front-page exposure in the Wall Street Journal.
"For 2014 we are continuing to expand our product line and tweak our bike designs in response to consumer feedback, with the goal of helping more people get on cargo bikes and enjoy a healthier, more sustainable and fun lifestyle."
Yuba has also expanded and redesigned the retail shop at its Petaluma headquarters and continues to grow its local bike advocacy initiatives. Yuba is donating four Mundos (two Boda Bodas and two Mundos) to the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition for use at events and as part of the coalition's bike loan program.
