COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (BRAIN) — SRM has released a new line of single-chainring mountain bike power meters.
"Measuring and recording performance metrics during mountain bike competition provides eye-opening analytics of the rider's true performance capabilities. Power data can provide a clear view in determining the physical load leading up to a great day on the bike or measure the load that caused performance limiting fatigue. These analytics are used to revise training programs and create training efficiencies which improve results while optimizing time on the bike," the company said.
The new 1X SRM PowerMeter uses a standard 104 BCD spider. They are available with SRAM XO1 X-Sync rings (32t-38t), or Race Face Narrow-Wide Single-Rings (30t-38t). The company said the new line is completely sealed from the elements. The company said the SRM power meter provides laboratory-grade accuracy, with reliable precision in the most extreme riding conditions, while adding just 70 grams to the crank. They have a solid state battery that offers 700 hours of use and is designed to accept a new rechargeable battery design to be released late in 2014. When available, SRM will upgrade any new 1X MTB PowerMeter to the rechargeable battery for the same cost as a battery replacement ($100).
